It's been almost 2 weeks with no response back as of yet. I have been told it has been escalated to a higher level for resolution. I contacted technical support and (hopefully) updated the information associated with the ticket. Interestingly, Windows Movies & TV app (and the Cyberlink PowerDirector 14 that came preinstalled on the computer) both can play the H.265 videos, although the PD playback is pretty jerky. Other testing led me to believe it may have something to do with the video adapter in my computer (Radeon RX460) because the GoPro Quik editing software also has the same problem on the computer I have VS on but works just fine with H.265 videos on my laptop, which just has integrated Intel graphics. Just touching an H.265 video in any media import attempt locks up VS and requires killing it with task manager. I originally opened a ticket, thinking it was a problem with all 4K videos.įurther investigation led to the finding that it was not all 4K videos in fact it had nothing to do with 4K: it was any video recorded with the H.265 codec (which GoPro does for a number of resolutions at higher frame rates). When i tried importing some videos shot in 4K, VideoStudio would lock up. I have a new GoPro Hero 6 and recently also updated to VS Ultimate 2018.
